Accommodation is divided between two towers, the Augustus and the Forum. Both offer standard rooms and suites, and the higher, north-facing floors look straight across the Detroit River. Ask for a river view when you book rather than at the desk; the allocation is usually made in advance.

Layouts, bed configurations and accessible rooms differ by tower, so compare the room pages on the official website. Reports suggest the Forum Tower is reserved for adults; ask the hotel how that applies to your party.

Pools & spa

The indoor pool is paired with a whirlpool and sauna, and its windows face the river. It is a calm place for an early swim before the riverfront gets busy. Access is generally limited to adults, so confirm the rules if anyone in your group is under 19.

Shows & entertainment

Under the name Colosseum, the complex keeps its own event centre, booking touring musicians, comedians and other live acts throughout the year. Because it is part of the complex, guests can walk from their room to their seat without going outside, which matters in a Windsor January.

A room key is not a show ticket; the two are bought apart. Scan the Colosseum listings ahead of fixing your nights, because a full house downstairs also fills the lifts and the steakhouse.

What's nearby

The riverfront parkland that runs along the Detroit River is the obvious first walk, with open lawns, public art and long views of the skyline opposite. Downtown streets with cafés and independent restaurants are a few blocks south.

A short drive east brings you to Walkerville, a neighbourhood with heritage houses and a distillery history worth an afternoon. For anything farther afield, ask the front desk about current opening times.

How to get there

From Michigan, the Detroit–Windsor Tunnel surfaces in downtown Windsor close to the resort, and the Ambassador Bridge crosses farther west. Carry a valid passport or other accepted travel document and allow for border queues, especially on Friday evenings.

Within Canada, Highway 401 ends in Windsor, and the city has a VIA Rail station and Windsor International Airport. Detroit Metropolitan Airport is another option for international arrivals, with a border crossing on the way in; whether any shuttle or airport transfer runs is a question for the concierge.
